Bronek Masojada (Alderman)

Bronek is Chair of the East End Community Foundation. This supports charities and community groups active in Hackney, Tower Hamlets, Newham and the City of London. He is also Chair of SiriusPoint, a Bermuda headquartered, US listed speciality insurers and Saltus Ltd, a PE backed financial advisor and investment manager and Hiscox Direct Asia.

He serves as a non-executive director of Brown & Brown, the insurance brokerage firm. In addition, he advises and mentors senior leaders of several fintech’s.

Bronek served as CEO of Hiscox, the specialist insurer from 2000 to 2021, having joined as Managing Director in 1993. He was Deputy Chair of Lloyd’s from 2001-2007.

 

Bronek holds a bachelor's degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, and a master's degree from Trinity College, Oxford.

Bronek was elected Alderman for the Ward of Billingsgate in 2019. He served as one of the two Sheriffs of the City of London for 2023/24. He has been recommended by the Court of Aldermen (subject to election) to be the 699th Lord Mayor of the City London in November 2027. He served as Master of the Worshipful Company of Insurers for the year 2014. He is on the Appeal Fundraising Board of the Lord Mayor's Appeal

Bronek is married to Jane, a figurative and portrait artist. They have five children: Adam, Michaela, Lara, Dominik and Marek.
