James MacPhail is a biochar subject matter expert, based in the UK, and has been responsible for leading the market development - production - marketing and sales of biochar and CO2 Removal Certificates, longer than most in the global sector today. Advising on international strategy and product positioning in a dozen countries for corporations, governing bodies and organisations.
He has been a Fellow & Biochar Lead at The Climate Map; Strategic Consultant for Carbofex the guinea pig for Puro's methodology, plus a Strategic Advisor for the International Biochar Initiative - the world’s advisory body for all things biochar and was asked by Cornell University to lobby for the biochar industries at COP26 in Glasgow. Also Commercial Director for the world's leading biochar brand Carbon Gold for the last 13 years.
James MacPhail is a graduate of Royal Agricultural University MSc (Hons) in Agriculture and he currently runs two continuous pyrolysis technology companies from the US and Finland.
